Common Ground Rising opening reception

In recent years, political and social tensions in the United States have intensified, leaving many Americans concerned about democracy, economic inequality, human rights, and the nation’s role in global conflicts. Artists across the country have responded by creating works that reflect on these challenges and the search for a more just and compassionate society. In conjunction with the nationwide “Fall of Freedom” artist project, Common Ground Rising brings together artists from western North Carolina whose work addresses contemporary political, domestic, and international issues.
