About this event
One of 73 upcoming events at Rotary Club Of Austin, and 1,400 across Austin.
@ For more than a century, the Rotary Club of Austin and Helping Hand Home for Children have shared a commitment to creating safer, brighter futures for children in our community. Join Chris Janawicz, Director of Residential Services at Helping Hand Home, for an inside look at the organization’s work with children who have experienced severe abuse, neglect, and complex trauma. Through residential treatment, therapeutic foster care, adoption services, education, clinical support, and enrichment programs, Helping Hand Home provides children with a safe place to heal, grow, and rediscover the joy of childhood. The connection between our organizations is deeply rooted in Austin history. In 1925, the Rotary Club of Austin donated the Hyde Park facility that became Helping Hand Home’s permanent campus. More than 100 years later, our club continues to support the Home and the children and families it serves. Chris will share how Helping Hand Home’s programs work today, the challenges facing children in its care, and the role that compassionate staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners play in helping each child move toward healing and a permanent family. This special program offers Rotarians an opportunity to learn more about one of our club’s most enduring community partnerships—and how we can help carry its legacy into the next century.
