About this event

As part of Love Sanibel Back’s Wild Mile Week, SCCF invites you to join fellow community members for a hands-on oyster restoration project in Tarpon Bay. Volunteers will help restore critical oyster reef habitat by filling buckets with shell material, transporting materials, and assisting with reef construction in shallow estuarine waters. This hands-on project will improve water quality, create habitat for fish and other marine life, and strengthen the health of our coastal ecosystems. Participants should expect to get wet and muddy while working alongside SCCF staff to make a tangible impact on the bay. Activities may involve bending, lifting, and walking short distances in shallow water or on uneven terrain. Join us in celebrating the power of community conservation while giving back to the island through stewardship and service. SIGN UP
