Paint & Create Summer Camp Week 5

Whether your child loves to paint, sculpt, or explore new artistic techniques, our camp offers a unique experience where they’ll create 2-4 awesome projects every day to take home and cherish. Every week will feature a fresh theme, from “All About Color” to “Nature’s Crafts” and everything in between. Our expert instructors will guide your child through each project, sparking their creativity and boosting their confidence. Each day will include at least one guided painting, plus the weekly themed arts and crafts below! Monday – Friday 1pm – 4pm Pricing Early bird | Register by April 18th | $225/wk per child (ages 6+) Regular bird | Register by May 31st | $245/wk Fashionably late bird | Register by June 20th | $285/wk Almost-clipped-a-wing bird | Register by June 27 – $305/wk Week 5: “All About Color” Focusing on the color wheel, saturation, and the “wow factor” of vibrant pigments. Day 1: Color Theory & Watercolor Resist Projects: Painting “Magic Message” art using white crayons and liquid watercolors and creating a 12-hue color wheel clock. Skill Focus: Understanding primary/secondary colors, wax resistance, and pigment blending. Day 2: Monochrome Canvas Nightscapes Projects: Choosing a single “favorite” color and painting a landscape using only tints, tones, and shades of that color. Skill Focus: Value scales (adding white for tints and black for shades) and monochromatic harmony. Day 3: Kaleidoscope Sand Art Projects: Layering vibrant, custom-colored sand into glass jars or geometric “sand paintings.” Skill Focus: Precision pouring, pattern layering, and color contrast. Day 4: Rainbow Macramé Wall Hangings Projects: Creating a “cloud and rainbow” wall hanging using thick cotton rope and colorful yarn wrapping. Skill Focus: The “gathering knot,” fiber wrapping, and fringe trimming. Day 5: Color Explosion: Splatter & Drip Art Projects: Experimenting with Drip Art (acrylic pouring) and Pollock-style Splatter Art painting on large canvases. Skill Focus: Viscosity, fluid dynamics, and expressive movement.
