About this event
One of 22 upcoming events at Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College, and 3,306 across Philadelphia.
Scott Arboretum & Gardens has adapted the traditional ofrenda to honor and remember the lives of those who have contributed to the gardens. The altar includes photos and names of our founders, staff members, volunteers and donors. This year we are dedicating the altar to Maralyn Gillespie ’49, an avid supporter of the Arboretum and longtime greenhouse volunteer. Join us in honoring their memory and celebrate this tradition with poems from the Swarthmore College Spanish department, great reads from Swarthmore College Libraries, and performance by Citlali de Mexico folk dance group.
