Join The Aldrich and The Glimmerglass Festival for a free evening of contemporary art, opera, art song, and musical theater, featuring acclaimed Glimmerglass artists, soprano Keely Futterer, and Artistic & General Director Rob Ainsley on piano. Enjoy a drinks reception and exhibition highlights tour at 5:30 pm, followed by the performance inspired by, and in dialogue with, the current exhibition The Aldrich Decennial: I am what is around me at 6 pm. Guests will experience an intimate performance featuring musical selections inspired by and connected to works and ideas within the exhibition. Through commentary woven throughout the evening, Ainsley will illuminate connections between visual art and music, inviting audiences to consider how artists and composers across disciplines explore ideas of place, memory, identity, storytelling, and creative expression. This event is free, but advance registration is required. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. This special collaboration with The Aldrich brings Glimmerglass artists into the galleries for an evening exploring the dialogue between music and contemporary visual art.
