October 23, 2026 – December 2026 Opening Reception – OCT 23 from 5:30 – 6:30 PM FREE, reserve your spot! Open Gallery Hours: Tuesdays from 6 – 9 PM soulforce explores the parallel movements for freedom, self-determination, and equality among Black, Indigenous, and Chicano communities in the Twin Cities during the 1960s. The exhibition features large collages made of photographs, news articles, and other historical visuals. These panels show how different communities worked together to strengthen their fight for justice before, during, and after the civil rights era. Curated by multidisciplinary artist James Curry, soulforce highlights how the North Side of Minneapolis served as a main crossroads for these three movements. Curry defines “soulforce” as a philosophy about how people and communities unite to share resources and knowledge.
