Event: Shaumpishuh, The Quinnipiac Sachem Date:June 7 Time:2 pm Location: Yellow Munger Barn Come learn about Shaumpishuh, the female chief of the Mennunkatuck Band of the Quinnipiac people in 1638 when English settlers first arrived. Historian Jim Powers will explain her role in negotiating a peaceful way for her people to live side by side with colonists. Be a part of the effort to raise a statue in her honor in the heart of Guilford, led by the ShaumpishuhStatue Committee.
