Chris Brashear & Peter McLaughlin

Focal Friends of Old-Time Music are pleased to present Chris Brashear & Peter McLaughlin in their first appearance together in St. Louis. Chris and Peter represent over thirty years of musical collaboration. Their music is built on a deep respect for traditional music, from blues to bluegrass, mountain ballads, cowboy songs and probably just about anything one might place under the current “Americana” category. They are singers and songwriters with a keen interest in the American southwest and the Colorado Plateau. Both experienced “river rats”, they perform for music trips on the San Juan River in southern Utah and the Colorado River in Grand Canyon.   Both Chris and Peter were active from the late 1990’s through the early 2000’s as part of the highly acclaimed bluegrass & old-time string band, The Perfect Strangers (along with Jody Stecher, Bob Black and Forrest Rose), during which time they recorded a well-received CD for Rebel Records.
