About this event
One of 46 upcoming events at The Phillips Collection.
Led by local and national wellness teachers, join us for free 30-minute online meditations. Inspired by an artwork from the collection, each session focuses on a different mindfulness practice and includes a Spotlight Talk by a Phillips Educator about the artwork. Inspired by “Housetop” variation by Mary Lee Bendolph, join Megan Twining for a 15-minute body scan meditation, a mindfulness practice that guides your attention through different areas of the body, encouraging you to notice physical sensations, release tension, and connect with the present moment. The program concludes with a 15-minute Spotlight Talk exploring the featured artwork. Megan Twining is a certified Yoga therapist and Yoga educator. For 25 years she has been involved in the visual, culinary, and movement arts guiding people towards embodied connection and cheerful observation of the energy around them; all of which leads to the Self within. Once students become aware and take responsibility to clear themselves of doubt, they are open to receive themselves as free, whole, and love itself. Megan is the founder / director of Sonder® a Yoga studio & school based in the Washington, DC, area. If you would like to request an accessibility service, please email [email protected] in advance of the event. Providing two weeks’ notice is recommended, though not required. Full efforts will be made to accommodate requests. For more information, please review our visitor guidelines.
