The Phillips Collection’s Living Room is a series of intimate conversations featuring artists, authors, curators, collectors, and museum professionals. These programs offer rare opportunities to engage in discussions that connect the museum’s collection with broader dialogues. Join Juli Folk, Head of Archives, Library & Digital Resources at The Phillips Collection, for an intimate talk offering a behind-the-scenes look at archival publications and facsimiles. Established in 1921, the Library & Archives preserves rare publications, artist files, exhibition catalogues, and historical records dating back to the museum’s founding. Discover how archival materials connected to Duncan and Marjorie Phillips help document the evolution of America’s first museum of modern art. Learn how these materials are researched, preserved, and shared, and gain insight into the work that makes the museum’s history accessible to researchers and the public. Juli Folk is the Head of Archives, Library & Digital Resources at The Phillips Collection. With more than 20 years of multi-disciplinary work experience in both corporate and non-profit settings, Juli earned a master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Maryland-College Park in 2019 and a bachelor’s in English Literature with a minor in art history from The College of William & Mary in 2002. Juli lives in Wheaton, Maryland, with her husband and their sweet, senior cat, Poncho. If you would like to request an accessibility service, please email [email protected] in advance of your visit.
