Giancarlo Aquilanti (b. 1953): Piano Quintet* Eric Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957): Piano Quintet op. 15 Continuing its long-standing partnership with Phillips Music, the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium brings five exceptional young artists-in-residence to the Music Room for a program of piano quintets. Italian composer and Stanford University music theorist Giancarlo Aquilanti will make a special appearance to discuss his own Piano Quintet, heard here in its US premiere, alongside Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s expressive 1921 Piano Quintet. This performance is generously sponsored by Inna Metler. Presented in partnership with the Embassy of Belgium. Composer Aquilanti will be present to discuss his new work.
