Carefree Art Night: Julie Hemer

Julie Hemer never met an art form she couldn’t master. A former English teacher who had a side business doing pencil portraits, today she loves the organic unpredictability of three-dimensional gourds that she adorns with intricate hand-painted pottery designs or delicate pyrographic drawings. Her wildly popular wall totems feature ceramic carvings, glass mosaics, and cholla wood, among other textures, and her gourd totems capture a wild animal spirit. Come see how she does it.
