About this event
One of 57 upcoming events at Tucson Symphony Center.
Acclaimed for his stellar stage presence and joyous musicianship, cellist Sterling Elliott is a 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and the winner of the Senior Division of the 2019 National Sphinx Competition. Experience his artistry in Elgar’s achingly poignant Cello Concerto. Elgar’s final full-scale orchestral work, written in 1919, reflected his grief in the tragic aftermath of World War I. Closing the program, Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloé captures love in one of his most intoxicating scores. Stravinsky called it one of the most beautiful products of all French music. Sterling Elliott has been hailed by New York Concert Review for his perfect intonation, style, and total involvement.
