2026 Community Recycling Event

The Waukegan Park District is partnering with the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) and the City of Waukegan to host a Community Recycling Event on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 9am to 12pm at the Park Maintenance Facility, located at 2211 Ernie Krueger Circle. Collected items will be reused, recycled, or donated to local non-profit organizations. Collected items will be reused, recycled, or donated to local non-profit organizations. The following items will be accepted, with some exceptions: Accessories (Backpacks, Belts, Duffle Bags, Hats, Purses, and Scarves) Batteries (Household Batteries) Bicycles Books Bulbs Canned Food (Non-Expired) Clothes and Textiles Diapers and Wipes Electronics Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids, and Keys Footwear (Boots and Shoes) Linens (Bedding, Blankets, Curtains, and Towels) Musical Instruments Plastic Film Sports Equipment Stuffed and Plush Animals For more information, contact Bryant Brown at [email protected] or 847-360-4756.
