About this event
The Waukegan Park District and the Waukegan Historical Society are partnering with Lake County Audubon Society and Share Our Shore – Waukegan to host Junior Birders on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 11am to 12:30pm at the Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie, located at 1 N. Sheridan Road. This program is for ages 8 to 12 years of age and there is a fee to participate. $5 for residents and $10 for nonresidents. Register by Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Have you ever heard a bird call outside and wondered who that song belonged to? Or have you seen a unique bird and wondered what type it was? This activity based program will introduce you to bird anatomy, songs and calls, and different habitats around the Waukegan area. Resources for additional family bird walks and activities will be available as well. The program is facilitated by an educator with the Lake County Audubon Society.
