Hands-on printmaking art classes in the Book Arts Studio! Get creative in our Block Printing on Fabric Class! Design and carve your own 4×6″ linoleum stamp to be printed with fabric block printing ink. Attendees will be provided one cotton tea towel or tote to print their stamp, but may also bring their own fabric items (up to 1 per person) to print if desired. Consider up-cycling a wearable item from your closet! Cotton/cotton blend works best 🙂 You will be given hands-on demonstrations and assistance every step of the way, with lots of time for brainstorming and experimenting with print colors. Or, come with a design idea ready to go! All ages and experience levels are welcome, though we will work with a sharp tool, so adult supervision is required for children under the age of 12 in this block printing on fabric class. Things to Note: • Makers of all skill levels are welcome. This class is suitable for ages twelve+, with adult supervision required for children under the age of 12. • All necessary tools and materials needed to participate are provided. • It’s helpful to bring your own simple image (printed or digital) or an idea of what you’d like to carve into your linoleum block! • A fabric item (tea towel or tote bag) is provided, but feel free to bring an additional item as desired. • Please read our ‘Plan Your Visit’ page to review our health & safety procedures.
