Hands-on bookbinding art classes in the Book Arts studio! In this hardcover case bookbinding class you will create a hand-bound hardcover journal. A case binding is a hardcover book where groups of pages are sewn together and bound between pieces of book board covered in a protective material. Like a traditional chapter book! Even though it’s a bit complicated, this is still a great structure for beginners. Customize your book by choosing from our various decorative book papers and cloth. This class is geared towards beginners and welcomes makers of all skill levels. Join us! This is a two date workshop, participants must attend both dates of this class listed in the registration form below. Things to note: • Makers of all skill levels are welcome. She has a BFA in photography from the University of Illinois. The disciplines she works in are photography, collage, book arts, installation art, performance, printmaking, and film making. In addition to making art, she is passionate about building communities, sharing skills, mentoring, and teaching.
