MIss Kim Southern Smoke Foundation Fundraiser Dinner

Tuesday, October 6th, 7pm | $145 Miss Kim is excited to host an incredible collaboration dinner with 5 different chefs from the Metro Detroit area, and for a great cause: a fundraiser for Southern Smoke Foundation. The non-profit provides financial support, mental health resources, and crisis management tools to food and beverage industry workers. Founded by industry people themselves, they operate with the mission that is strong: “Southern Smoke exists to take care of our own.” Here is the lineup for this fundraiser dinner: Chef Ji Hye Kim of Miss Kim and Little Kim: five-time James Beard Award Best Chef semifinalist, 2021 Food & Wine Best Chef. Chefs Hamissi Mamba and Nadia Nijimbere: Co-Owners of Baobab Fare, James Beard Award Best Chef finalists. Chef Rohani Foulkes: Visionary and co-founder of Folk Detroit, which was named one of Food & Wine’s 19 Great Restaurants to Work For in 2019. Chef Ederique Goudia: Founder of In the Business of Food (IBF), James Beard Foundation program alumna, and co-creator of Taste the Diaspora Detroit. Chef Joe VanWagner: Executive Chef and Partner at Echelon Kitchen + Bar, James Beard Award Best Chef semifinalist. Chef Bob Bennett: Chef of Operations at Zingerman’s Roadhouse and on the board of directors for the Independent Restaurant Coalition and The Good Meat Project. Marrow Detroit Provisions, a sustainable meat sourcing company here in Michigan, is providing the meat products in support of this event and Southern Smoke Foundation. This team of chefs are coming together for the benefit of the Southern Smoke Foundation, where all dinner proceeds will go to the non-profit.
