The Way of Watercolor: Summer Session – SOLD OUT Wednesdays, July 22, 2026 – September 2, 2026 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM Adult Education (Ages 15+) Cost: $240 per person for the entire 6-week series THE WAY OF WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP IS SOLD OUT About the Workshop Learn the ways of watercolor at Bayard Cutting Arboretum. This series will include techniques to create washes, mix colors, and handle the tools needed to create different effects. These techniques will be applied to creating paintings based on students’ chosen reference images. About the Instructor Your guide, Teresa Cromwell, has been a practicing watercolor artist since 2006. She has exhibited and won awards in various shows across Long Island. She is a Signature Member of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Northeast, and Rhode Island Watercolor Societies. Supply List The following supplies are recommended. If a student has supplies they are currently comfortable working with, they may bring those. The instructor will introduce and review supplies on day one. Recommended Stores: Michael’s, Blick Art Materials, Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff, and Jerry’s Artarama. Basic Supplies: High Quality Watercolor Paper *Important* Recommended Brand: Arches Cold Pressed 140 lb. 30”x22” can be cut into smaller pieces. Also, sold in pre-cut ‘blocks’ Watercolor Brushes Recommended Brands: Princeton, Silver Brush: Black Velvet or synthetic brands Round brushes (sizes 6, 8, 10) 1” or 2” Flat wash brush An assortment of flats or scrubber brushes Watercolor Paint Recommended Brands: Winsor Newton, Holbein, and Daniel Smith Primary Colors (The basics needed to get started): Indanthrene Blue, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Permanent Rose, New Gamboge, Raw Sienna. Additional Colors (Options to build a bigger palette): Lavender, Shadow Green, Blue Horizon, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Cascade Green, Cobalt Turquoise, Cobalt Turquoise Light, Mineral Violet, Cerulean Blue.
