Reflections Series: Discovering Frederic Edwin Church A Community Conversation on Art, History, and the Katahdin Landscape Friday, October 9, 2026 | 5:00 PM Boreal Theater Join Boreal Theater for a special evening exploring the life, legacy, and artistic influence of renowned American landscape painter Frederic Edwin Church as part of our Reflections: In the Footsteps of Frederic Edwin Church community arts initiative. Featuring Stephen Metcalf, Reflections Community Curator, and Opal Myrick, Elementary/Schenck High School Art Teacher, this community conversation will explore Church’s connection to the Katahdin region, his impact on American landscape painting, and the ways his work continues to inspire artists, educators, students, and communities today. This event leads into the Reflections Art Exhibition, opening November 7, 2026, through January 8, 2027, where visitors will experience a culminating collection of Church-inspired artwork created by local community members, students, and professional artists alike. Come together with neighbors, artists, educators, and art lovers as we celebrate the history, culture, heritage, and creative spirit of our region through the power of art. Free community event.
