REGISTRATION OPENS: Wednesday, August 2026 • 12:00 PM ET Click Here to Access the Registration Portal>> Please Note: • You must be 55 years old or older to register for the workshop • Registration remains open until the workshop is full • To join the waitlist, please email [email protected] WORKSHOP SCHEDULE: Mondays & Wednesdays, 2 – 5 PM September 14 – October 7, 2026 (9/14, 9/16, 9/21, 9/23, 9/28, 9/30, 10/5, & 10/7) In-Person At The Bronx Museum (1040 Grand Concourse) ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: As part of The Bronx Museum’s Lifelong Studio program of free art-making classes for adults age 55 and older, we are offering an eight-session painting workshop for all experience levels! In this workshop, participants will use abstraction to explore themes around the body, family, nature, movement, emotion, and the subconscious. Working in acrylic paint, participants will be introduced to a range of painting techniques, in addition to learning how to transform materials such as canvas, wood, and paper into painting surfaces. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created a painting that communicates truths about a real-life subject, all while transcending its original form.
