The exhibition features an intimate look at Lakshmi Nallamala’s artistic process, showcasing delicate gouache studies alongside plein-air oil paintings. The oils were completed during an intensive mentorship with master artist Jill Steenhuis, a deeply immersive experience that brought Lakshmi directly to the historic sites where the impressionists once stood. From the quiet sanctuary of the L’Abeille studio to the coastal brilliance of Cassis and the iconic silhouette of Mont Sainte-Victoire, each piece vibrates with the joy of direct observation. A particular highlight of the collection was born during her residency in Aix-en-Provence, coinciding with the city’s historic “Year of Cézanne” celebration. This body of work is the realization of a lifelong dream—a magical, light-filled tribute to the enduring spirit of Provence and the masters who defined it.
