Current Event Tennessee River Valley Plein Air Competition- Call for Artists Aug 14–Oct 2, 2026 Carnegie Visual Arts Center Opening August 14, 2026 Submission Deadline: October 2, 2026, at 5 PM Submission Cost: $45 Event Dates: November 5-11, 2026 Exhibit Dates: December 22, 2026-Feb 13, 2027 Celebrate North Alabama beauty and art through Plein Air. This is a 3-year collaborative event combining the efforts of Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur, AL, Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts in Florence, AL and Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment in Huntsville, AL. This year the event will be hosted by the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur, Alabama. The Plein Air Event will take place November 5th-11th and the finished pieces will be displayed in an exhibit from December 22, 2026 to February 13, 2027 at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. There will be a reception held to celebrate the art and announce the award winners.
