About this event
One of 4 upcoming events at The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, and 3,545 across Greater Boston.
Join J-PAL South Asia in the exclusive convening where we share the findings of the evaluation of the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana programme, the first government-led scale-up of the Graduation Approach. We will be joined by J-PAL Co-founder and Nobel Laureate Esther Duflo, in conversation with key policymakers from the Government of Bihar and JEEViKA, the Ministry of Rural Development, Bandhan Konnagar, Dr. Jyoti Mukhopadhyay, Dr. M.R. Sharan, and Dr. Shagun Sabarwal. In this event, we'll explore the outcomes of a randomised evaluation of the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana, which leveraged community institutions to deliver the programme at scale. Principal investigators, the Government of Bihar, the Ministry of Rural Development, and implementation partners will come together to discuss their roles in translating the policy from theory into real-world praxis. Our goal will be to unpack how this evidence can be scaled up in states with very different institutional contexts and implementation capacities. The event marks a high point in nearly two decades of work and paves the way forward from the inflexion point we are at today – the Graduation Approach will now inform policy at the highest level and change the lives of millions across the country. The event will be livestreamed from the venue, and you can watch it at the link below
