Summer at Van Vleck – Nature Journaling

Summer at Van Vleck Partner Program with the Montclair Institute for Lifelong Learning Thursdays, July 16 – Aug 20, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM July 16 – Nature Journaling – Slow down and notice the textures of the natural world in this creative nature journaling class.  Using leaves, bark, stones, and other found objects in the Gardens, we’ll experiment with texture rubbings and transfer their patterns onto the pages of our journals while experimenting with color, layering and the pressures our marks make.  As we play, you will have the opportunity to explore a simple writing prompt inspired by the process.  Part art-making, part free-thought writing, this class invites curiosity, creativity and a connection with nature.  No art or writing experience necessary to join along.
