Frottage Workshop with Noah Breuer and Jazzmen Lee-Johnson
About this event
We invite you to participate in a hands-on workshop with New Voices: Design artists Noah Breuer and Jazzmen Lee-Johnson. In this session, visitors will create one of a kind wax rubbings (frottage) on paper using laser-engraved clipboards. Rubbings create an image of an object or dimensional surface by transferring the topography of a matrix onto paper. Using a variety of original designs provided by the artists, attendees become collaborators who may work together or separately to create new, original artworks through this printmaking process. This workshop engages the artists’ inquiries on authorship, appropriation, and labor—issues that are inherent to their work on view in New Voices: Design.
